The 2016 was the last vintage completed before the Cazes family of Lynch-Bages bought Haut-Batailley in spring 2017 — a Fifth Growth on the eve of a new chapter. Blackcurrants, blueberries and violets fascinate on the nose; the palate is full-bodied and tightly wound with linear, bright energy that rewards patience.
