2019 Château La Gurgue

A refined biodynamic Margaux with crushed blueberries, mulberries, pressed flowers and dried spices over firm, powdery tannins and a mineral finish.

A small estate in the village of Margaux steps from Château Margaux itself, La Gurgue is farmed biodynamically (Demeter-certified) by Claire Villars-Lurton. The 2019, raised partly in concrete eggs, is textured and refined: crushed blue fruits and pressed flowers with a fresh, mineral drive.
