2021 Château Langoa-Barton

A complex, subtle Saint-Julien with currants, tar, lead pencil, violets and blackberries over ultrafine tannins and a crunchy, vivid finish.

The Barton family marked 200 years at Langoa in 2021 — the Third Growth has passed from parent to child since Hugh Barton bought it in 1821, never once sold — and the anniversary vintage wears a special label. It is fleshy and seamless: dark berries and plums with sweet spices, cigar box and a hint of chocolate over beautifully refined tannins.
